DIRECTION OF PROJECTS (DDP ICES)
The Direction of Projects of ICES has among its main objectives, to contribute to the popular hegemony through research, training and project creation linking them to compromise with popular sectors. Meaning by popular sectors economic agents of micro and small-medium enterprises of the productive and services sectors, as well as economic and social agents and authors situated in urban and in rural areas. Also, it promotes human development, a sit transforms the inner world of the people, generating changes in attitudes, values, conceptions and schemes pf behavior that allow to contribute to the building of endogen development, environmentally sustainable, with citizen participation, equitable distribution, social and gender equity; because it is the human being who can achieve its own development.
Currently, DDP and ICES impel two projects in rural community development: The Net of Microenterprises if Community Rural Tourism of Tola (REMITURCT); The Program of Environmental Education for Infants (PIEMA).
1. REMITURCT
The Institute of Economic Sciences and Consulting (ICES) organizes and impels Project ‘Network of Micro-enterprises in Rural Tourism in Tola’ (REMITURCT) which is a local development project launched in 2017. It is influenced by the Project of Iberian-American Rural Tourism that later became the Iberian-American Institute of Rural Tourism (IBEROTUR) of which ICES is currently a Member.
Therefore, within its components, training on rural tourism, on tourist attractions of their properties and communities, on the creation and maintenance of trails, providing hospitality to tourism without damaging the environment; as well as the study of the environment, its flora and fauna and of environmental management plans so that each farm, each route and the overall project itself, are provided with an instrument of protection of the environment where they live and work.
REMITURCT has among its principles training as a path to empower and generate self-management consciousness of rural population, to solve the problem of income creation that will bring, among others, enhancement of health, education and environmental preservation. Amongst its objectives, achievement of rural families in obtaining additional income to increase their life standard, without the deterioration of their land or of the environment.
2. PIEMA
The ‘Program of Environmental Education for Infants’ (PIEMA) is directed to the children of the families of the communities that are integrated within project REMITURCT. Its goal is to guarantee continuation of the environmental education developed by the project and the change in behavior needed to be achieved. Infant education guarantees change towards environmental protection in order to become sustainable and permanent.
